Takayama Matsuri in Gifu Prefecture is a collective name for the two time-honored festivals held every spring and autumn. Noted for its procession of elaborately decorated floats,this elegant festival is counted among the three greatest float festivals of Japan, along with Kyoto’s Gion Festival and Saitama’s Chichibu Night Festival. Some floats feature skillfully operated karakuriningyos,or mechanical marionettes that perform amazing tricks.

The Spring Takayama Festival (Sanno Festival) is an annual festival of Hie Shrine and is held on April 14th and 15th every year.
The Fall Takayama Festival (Hachiman Festival) is an annual festival of Sakurayama Hachimangu and is held on October 9th and 10th every year.
春の高山祭（山王祭）は日枝神社の例祭で毎年4月14日・15日に開催されます。
