Tojinbo in northern Fukui Prefecture is a famous scenic spot for its series of rugged, precipitous cliffs as high as 25 meters, which have been eroded by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan over the years. Located within Echizen-Kaga Quasi-National Park, the columnar joints stretching almost one kilometer are a rare geological phenomenon that offers a breathtaking view. Along with Oshima Island, it is designated as a Natural Monument in Japan.
