Meiji-mura is an open-air museum in Inuyama,near Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture. Over 60 historical buildings were relocated to the one-square-kilometer area alongside Lake Iruka to preserve some of the finest examples of – Japanese architectures from the Meiji period through the early Showa period. The buildings that incorporated Western construction methods are the Main Entrance Hall of Tokyo Imperial Hotel, the largest structure in Meiji-mura, Kyoto’s St. John’s Church, St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, Uji-yamada Post Office and Maebashi Prison.
